Baroness Cox asks the British Government what it will do to support peaceful protesters in Sudan

7 June 2019

On June 6, Baroness Cox (crossbench) spoke in the House of Lords to ask what the British Government is doing to support peaceful protesters in Sudan and what steps it will take to ensure the military junta is held accountable. This comes just days after crackdowns on Sudanese pro-democracy protesters carried out by security forces left more than 100 people dead, and just over a month after the ousting of former president Omar al-Bashir, who was deposed following mass protests after being in power for 30 years.

A copy of the full oral question will be available soon.
