The Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) is active in a wide variety of projects in Yei in the south of South Sudan and the surrounding areas, stretching beyond Yei County to neighbouring Lanyo County. EPC is involved with health clinics and a hospital, orphanages, women’s empowerment, agriculture, and economic development.
In the past HART has supported EPC’s work both in healthcare and agriculture. However, their work has now grown to a point where they no longer need to receive funding from HART. You can read an extract from their letter of appreciation below:
‘As we have progressed through 2012, God has been very generous in the doors that he has opened for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We have a number of new partners who are joining us in various projects throughout the nation of South Sudan. Our influence is also continuing to grow both internally in South Sudan and internationally.
While we were still small and our work was not well known, it was difficult to gain access to donors and supporters who were ready to work through us to serve the people of South Sudan. But in those times, HART stood with us, supported us and encouraged us. And I want to take this opportunity to thank Baroness Caroline Cox and all the staff at HART for their long-standing support, which has helped to bring us to where we now are.’ Bishop Elias Taban, EPC
We at HART would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have donated money in the past to support this project.
