Month of Care for Disabled In-patient
Providing care to individuals who would otherwise have no hope for recovery.
In the Soviet era, disabled people did not receive care; they were simply ‘warehoused’ in institutions until they died of pressure sores and infections. Now in its post-Soviet context, Nagorno-Karabakh still has attitudes towards people with disablities which need transformation. HART’s partner, the Rehabilitation Centre, offers a broad range of therapies for people, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, psychotherapy, and art and music therapy.
These therapies transform the lives of patients and push back against dated attitudes to disability in the community.
This gift is equivalent to supporting one in-patient at the centre for one month.
This gift supports HART’s partners via the general fund. Find out more here.
