A month’s wage for a Community Outreach Officer
'Prevention is better than cure', especially when it comes to HIV
HART’s partner in northern Uganda, the PAORINHER Centre, employs a small team of Community Outreach Officers to go out from the immediate area and reach into distant villages, often across challenging terrain.
These officers not only run community education programmes and HIV-issues ‘sensitisation’, but also conduct door-to-door health screening and refer new patients to the Centre for life-saving treatment. They are often the first point of contact for HIV sufferers, and the means of accessing treatment.
This gift is equivalent to paying one month’s salary for a Community Outreach Officer.
This gift supports HART’s partners via the general fund. Find out more here.
