A wheelchair can help a disabled person become more independent.
HART’s partner in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre, offers a range of therapies for disabled people in a post-Soviet culture unable to care for people living with physical trauma, debilitating illness or congenital conditions. The Centre, which began in a bombed-out school building, is now a Centre of Excellence spreading the philosophy of rehabilitation to the South Caucasus region.
Part of the support it gives to patients is the use of mobility equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers and crutches, that help them get out into the community. This gift to HART is equivalent to providing a wheelchair to a patient in need of mobility support.
This gift supports HART’s partners via the general fund. Find out more here.
