A Tent for a Displaced Family
Tents provide displaced families with a short term but highly effective defence against the elements – and mosquitoes.
Inadequate shelter is a serious problem for families facing life in camps for Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) in South Sudan. People often arrive with only what they could carry, or nothing, having had only moments to gather their things before fleeing.
Makeshift shelters do not keep out the cold or rain or wildlife, such as mosquitoes or other disease-carrying insects. A tent may be a short-term solution to a crisis, but it makes all the difference to the health of the family in it.
This gift to HART’s work is equivalent to providing one tent for one family in an IDP camp.
This gift supports HART’s partners via the general fund. Find out more here.
