Bring hope to forgotten conflicts
Your Impact
In March, a devastating earthquake struck Myanmar. Homes crumbled, hospitals collapsed, and loved ones were unaccounted for. HART launched an emergency appeal to support communities in two of the worst-affected regions, Mandalay and Inle Lake.
Your support has already had a tangible impact. Together, we have:
-
Delivered emergency food and cooking supplies
-
Provided temporary shelters for vulnerable families
-
Rebuilt homes in advance of monsoon rains
-
Distributed mosquito nets to displaced families
-
Provided sanitary products for women and girls in displacement camps

The struggle ahead
Following the military coup in 2021, there are deep-rooted layers of suffering. People are struggling to access healthcare, with harrowing stories of pregnant women losing their babies after giving birth in the street. Families are fleeing forced conscription by both the Burmese military and ethnic armed groups. Finally, the impact of US aid cuts is seismic: the future is more uncertain and precarious than ever before.

Your support is reaching people who lost everything in the earthquake - homes, family, hope. There is no-one else helping them to rebuild their lives. They never imagined help would come.
Supporting families, sensitively and sustainably
Families are trying to survive both the aftermath of the earthquake and the reverberations of the coup. As headlines about Myanmar begin to dissipate, we’re committed to raising the voices of our local partners and their communities.
We’re proud to be both first responders and to be in it for the long term. This is not possible without your continued support.
