Raymond’s Challenge

8 November 2017

Raymond, chairman of the PAORINHER Centre, accompanied HART to Uganda in October to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the centre opening. Instead of simply celebrating, he decided to undertake a mighty challenge in hopes of raising £10,000, running and cycling from Gulu to the centre in Patongo (90km) in 24 hours. He heroically managed 7 hours on the road and completed an 80 press-up challenge which we thought was accomplishment enough under the gruelling Ugandan sun – Well Done Raymond!

Watch his videos below to see why he was motivated to establish PAORINHER during the dark times of the Lord’s Resistance Army and continues to support his community.

Celebrating with the children and his press-up challenge:

HART now want to help Raymond and the PAORINHER centre develop agricultural land which can be used to provide much-needed nutrition for people living with HIV and establish an income source to help the centre become sustainable.

£10,000 will enable HART to help PAORINHER buy a second-hand tractor to clear 360 – 500 acres of land available to the centre which is currently unusable.
