Breaking the stigma of disability in the South Caucasus

A post-Soviet region where many people with disabilities experience discrimination and poverty. We amplify the voice of local disability advocates. We celebrate their vision for a brighter future.

For over 20 years, we’ve partnered with the Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre. We support refugees with complex needs, who fled Nagorno Karabakh and now seek to rebuild their lives in Armenia.

You have helped me become more independent. I am so grateful for the treatment and home visits, and that I can call any time for advice. Now I feel more confident. I feel happy that you are behind me.

Narine, from the Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre

We champion the rights and wellbeing of people with autism, down’s syndrome and cerebral palsy, as well as stroke survivors, amputees and people in chronic pain.

Over 100,000 people were forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh in 2023, approximately 9,000 of whom have disabilities. They fled to Armenia with minimal possessions and without access to essential equipment or assistive devices.

You are always by our side, our main source of encouragement. Your support has helped us provide life-changing care to thousands of people with disabilities.

Vardan Tadevosyan, Director of the Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre

In a region with limited infrastructure to support people with disabilities, you help empower individuals to live fulfilling and happy lives.
