An Update from SWAN and the Women’s Wellbeing Programme

8 July 2021

HART recently received the following update from our partner the Shan Women’s Action Network (SWAN):

Throughout the year we have been facing COVID-19 and it has been a year of challenging and demanding work for the Women’s Well-being Program. We are very grateful for HART’s support and flexibility so that our needs can be met when things change.

Moreover, due to the political situation there are many health providers from health sectors in Burma participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Therefore, our SWAN health workers are playing a very important role helping and supporting people in the communities. Not only in our target area but also in the nearest communities with people coming for the care and services because there are no health providers in the community at the clinics or community health centres.
