Humanitarian Update from SKBN Coordination Unit

18 May 2018

The text below is a summary of the report by the South Kordofan and Blue Nile Coordination Unit, which can be downloaded below.

HART’s recent appeal for the 9000 displaced in Wadaka is recognised by the SKBN CU for  emergency food distribution to almost 6 villages. Thank you once again to all our donors who supported our appeal and helped us supply £50,000 worth of food aid to the displaced communities in Wadaka.

However, the situation remains challenging as more humanitarian assistance is needed to ensure the health, security and protection of those affected by conflict. Below is a summary from the report:

  • People still streaming across border to refugee camps in South Sudan. 70% are children.
  • Little relief for displaced by conflict in Wadaka, Blue Nile
  • UN Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan visited Yida and met with partners
