Latest Humanitarian Report on Sudan: March-May 2019 Briefing

5 June 2019

In the countries where our partners work, human rights issues, political events and humanitarian crises rarely reach international headlines. We have put together briefings sourcing the latest humanitarian reports and news from the past three months in Sudan, Nigeria, South Sudan, Burma, Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh, which we will be releasing this week.

Excitement over month-long protest in Sudan leading to the ousting of former president Omar al-Bashir, who was in power for 30 years, has been short-lived as tensions continue to rise.  Disputes between military forces and civilian populations over the transfer of power has left over 100 protesters dead, and raised serious concern about Sudan’s transition towards democracy.
