Latest Humanitarian Report on Syria: March – May 2019 Briefing

3 June 2019

In the countries where our partners work, human rights issues, political events and humanitarian crises rarely reach international headlines. We have put together briefings sourcing the latest humanitarian reports and news from the past three months in Sudan, Nigeria, South Sudan, Burma, Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh, which we will be releasing this week.

The UN has said its “worst fears are coming true” as 3 million people are trapped in Idlib, which was attacked by Russia in the first “major assault in months”, 11 million people across the country are currently in need of humanitarian assistance as hostilities continue, and a Human Rights Watch report has investigated cases of detainment and disappearance in Daraa, Eastern Ghouta, and southern Damascus.
