BurmaÂ
- Officials from Thailand, the United Nations and Burma have arranged a deal to begin repatriating the first of 100,000 refugees to Burma. It was reported on Wednesday that some had begun the return home.
- Burma was once again declared the most generous country in the world. The title is according to the CAF World Giving Index 2016.
Nigeria
- A truck of refugees hit a land-mine of Boko Haram in northeast Nigeria. The attack was the third of its kind on returnees within two weeks.
- Eighty three soldiers have gone missing after a Boko Haram attack, according to senior military officials. The attack occurred in a remote base in northeast Nigeria.
Uganda
- Ugandan pastors have been killed in a train crash in Cameroon. Their families have been appealing to the government to help repatriate the bodies.
Sudan
- Sudan has again warned South Sudan to stop supporting rebels. The president of Sudan has given Juba two months to force Sudanese rebels operating inside South Sudan to leave the country.
South Sudan
- More than 500 children are alleged to have been kidnapped from a town in Western Equatoria in South Sudan. Their whereabouts are still unknown.
- 145 child soldiers have been released according to UNICEF. The children were recruited by the Cobra faction.
