HART Prize for Human Rights 2019| Life Lessons

27 March 2019

This year we received a record number of entries from a diverse range of countries, resulting in our toughest competition yet! We were truly impressed by the quality, creativity, and passion for Human Rights demonstrated by our participants, and toughly enjoyed all the submissions we received.

Martha Langley won 1st place in our HART Prize for Human Rights Intermediate Creative Competition 2019 with their entry titled:

Life Lessons

My creative entry is a model of two contrasting classrooms to highlight the intimacy of war and innocence, destruction and the creation that is brought about by education. One classroom is untouched, open to the world and therefore, learning. The other half of the model has been scorched by the fire of war, what was once a place of hope now void of purpose and left to rot as are the communities that are caught up in war.
